Blessed Assembly, Jesus’ Design! - Part 2

Scripture:  “And He came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up; and as was His custom, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath, and stood up to read.”   Luke 4:16 (CSB)

Certainly, church attendance does not save anyone, and there are reasons why some people are incapable of attending in-person worship services (e.g., work schedule, physical infirmities, a passing pandemic, etc.), but inasmuch as our Lord Himself modeled adherence to gathering with like-minded souls to worship the Father, can able-bodied people honestly justify the habitual forsaking of corporate worship?

The church, it has been said, indeed functions BEST when we gather together, exercising our spiritual gifts, encouraging one another, and bearing one another’s burdens.  (Romans 12:4-6;

1 Thess. 5:11; Galatians 6:2) Two are better than one, because together they can work more effectively,” says the Word in Ecclesiastes 4:9.

Let us not forsake the assembly of ourselves together, as is the manner of so many people these days.  God’s people were not created to be “Lone Ranger” types but to encourage one another, to thrive and grow into all that Christ saved us to be for His glory!  Let’s examine our own heart in this matter and determine to walk in the Light as Christ is in the Light. (1 John 1:7)

Prayer:  Dear Abba, remind Your kingdom people of Your command found in Hebrews 10:25.   Let us neither deceive nor “cheat” ourselves out of being blessed to BE a blessing by forsaking the assembling of ourselves together in corporate worship.  Thank You in Jesus’ name.   Amen!
