Attitude of Your Heart

SCRIPTURE:  “Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him.” II Corinthians 5:9
Abraham was on the brink of idolatry in his love for Isaac, God’s son of promise and he did not even know it. God had to test Abraham (Genesis 22) to reveal the depth and  integrity of his commitment to God. However, Abraham had many years in which his faith would continue to be tested and matured. But it came to pass on an assigned day that the Lord required Abraham’s faith to be made sight. He would be emptied to be filled! Abraham’s unquestionable obedience demonstrated a reverence and fear of God and a worship of Him only.

As we mature in Christ, our faith will be tested to prove whether it is genuine or not. Because an idol is a representation or a symbol of an object of worship, anything or anyone that takes God’s place of worship can become an idol. So “Who is on the throne of your heart?” Pleasing God must be the ultimate attitude of our heart. (II Corinthians 5:9) This kind of attitude will bring about an assurance that no matter what is assigned  to us by God to test our love for Him or the cost we know that all things will work together for our good and His glory.

PRAYER:
My heart – Your Throne Oh Lord!! The fight will always be challenging in this life, but I thank You Blessed Holy Spirit for being my strength and my enablement to fight a good fight.
