Weapons for Sin

SCRIPTURE: “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” James 4:8
It’s my choice to activate the ultimate weapons to address sin,
Intentionally focusing on the Lord’s promises and drawing closer to Him.

It’s my nature to see circumstances my way rather than the Lord’s way,
He graciously commands me to abide in Him as He abides in me day-to-day.

The truth is, I have divine power that works through the Holy Spirit,
Yet, if I refuse to rely on It, I have no power outside of It.

It’s a waste of time to rely on my strengths, abilities, and resources,
It’s effective time to spend on whatever is true, noble, pure, and praiseworthy.

So, it’s not practical to focus on not to sin,
It’s wise and practical to grow closer to Him.

God is faithful! He will not let me be tempted beyond what I can bear,
He will provide a way out so that I can endure what evil means to scare.

Sin will take me farther than I want to go, keep me longer than I want to stay,
But the consequence of this choice will cost me more than I want to pay.

Therefore, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me day-to-day,
If I draw nearer to Him the desire to sin will eventually fade away.

PRAYER: What’s hard for me is not for You my Lord. You can make a way out of no way. You can cleanse me of unrighteousness. I can’t imagine addressing my sin issue without You. Thank You, Lord! In the name of The Son. Amen!
