What We Believe

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Genesis Bible Fellowship Church based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

Scriptures

We believe in the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments in the original writings as being the inspired, infallible, and the inerrant Word of God. We believe the Bible to be our supreme and final authority in all matters regarding faith and life. (II Tim. 3:16-17; II Peter 1:19-21).

The Godhead

We believe in one Perfect, Infinite, Holy and Eternal God, Creator of all things, eternally existent in three Persons: the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit, each having the same nature, attributes and perfection and each worthy of the same worship and obedience. Gen. 1:1, 1:26: Matt. 3:16-17; Matt. 28:19 and John 10:30)

The Lord Jesus Christ

We believe in (1) Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God (John 1:18); (2) His virgin birth (Luke 1:35, Isaiah 7:14); (3) His death on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of men (Rom. 3:25; Heb. 9:14); (4) His literal bodily resurrection from the dead (Luke 24:36-43, Acts 17:31); (5) His present ministry as our Intercessory High Priest in Heaven (Heb. 7:22-28, 8:1-2); (6) His personal literal, and imminent return (John 14:2,3; Acts 1:11; I Thess. 4:16).

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Godhead. He baptizes, indwells, seals, regenerates all believing sinners at the moment of salvation (I Cor. 12:13, 3:16; Eph. 1:13-14; Titus 3:5). He convicts men of sin (John 16:8) and distributes to each believer at least one spiritual gift for service (I Cor. 12:11).

Salvation

We believe that (1) Salvation by grace through faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ is available freely to every man (John 3:16; Eph. 2:8-9); (2) All who receive Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord are born again into the Family of God and are eternally secure from all condemnation of sin. (John 1:12; I John 5:13; John 3:18) ;(3) Salvation occurs instantaneously the moment one receives Jesus Christ in their heart and lives. (Rom. 10:9,13 and Eph. 1:12-13).

The Ordinances

We believe that Jesus Christ gave two ordinances for His Church to follow: (1) THE LORD’S SUPPER (COMMUNION), it was left as a memorial of our Lord’s death until He returns (I Cor. 11:23,25); (2) BAPTISM, our Lord commanded that we baptized His disciples (Matt. 28:19). It is a necessary public testimony of one’s obedience and identification with his Lord but is not a pre-requisite or post-requisite to salvation.

Prophetic View

We believe in the personal pre-millennial and pre-tribulational rapture of the Church (Rev. 3:10; I Thess. 5:9); (1) Christ will come for His saints and gather them unto Himself. (I Cor. 15:51-58; I Thess. 4:13-18); (2) Christ will also come with His Saints to judge the nations for sin (Zachariah 14:4-5; Rev. 19:11-16). We believe in the bodily resurrection of the unjust unto the Great White Throne Judgment and the eventual condemnation to everlasting conscious punishment in the lake of fire. (Rev. 20:11-15

Missions

Because all men are lost without Christ and they cannot believe on Him if they have never heard about Him. We believe it is our responsibility to support those on the mission fields with prayer and finances as God enables us on the local, national, and international levels.(Matt. 28:19-20; and Acts 1:8)

Believers's Priesthood

We believe that each believer is an equal member of the holy and royal priesthood ( I Pet. 2:5,9). Because all believers are, priests we need no mediator other than Jesus Christ to approach God directly. (Heb. 4:16; 10:19; Rev. 1:6).
