SUNDAY MORNING PRAYERS with Pastor Wayne Cockrell

SCRIPTURE:
2 Peter 1:2-4
Our God and our Father, in this new year, there are many among us that need an awakening in our hearts, that the Word of God would become alive to our eyes as we read it. That our hearts would explode with praise as Your Word saturates us. We are asking for a miracle! Only You can work through the veil of our humanity and bring forth the revelation of Yourself, but our prayer is based upon the promise and the teaching You have given unto us, that in Jesus, You have made us complete. We lack nothing with capability, we lack nothing in terms of the fullness of you.  So, bless us as a people that a mighty work will break out in this place, that we would see things from Your perspective. That Your ways and Your thoughts, which are higher than the heavens above the earth (Isaiah 55:8), would become our ways and our thoughts, that You would lift us up and give us that revelation of You in a powerful and mighty way. Lord, I pray to You that You would raise up an army of children. You have said in Psalm 8 that the praises of children can turn back the adversary. We want this year to be the year of the children, that You would open doors and bring and expose us to a multitude of children that You will entrust us with, that we can invest ourselves in this next generation so that the life that You place, even in children, will overwhelm this place with youthful enthusiasm. We will be reminded that Kingdom people before You become like children with simple faith, simple trust, simple obedience, a simple awareness of who You are as our Father and we will give You praise Lord and we will give You thanks, Lord. In Jesus’ name, amen and amen!

nJesus Blesses Little Children

n

n13 Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. 14 But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. 15 Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.” 16 And He took them up in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them.
