Prayer For True Enlightenment

Our God and Father who is in heaven, hallowed be Your great name. Surely our Father before Your presence in prayer we are humbled by the knowledge of Your holiness. It is always fitting to ask for forgiveness and cleansing of our hearts so that Your mercy can usher us into Your presence with a sense of new freedom, openness, and the restored joy of Your salvation (Psalm 51:12). There are many things You have chosen to reveal to us about who You are, and selectively You have taught us some things about what You have done, things You are doing, and things You will bring to past according to Your good purpose and will (Deuteronomy 29:29). I know, like so many others, You have been true to the words You have given unto us to know and live by all the days of our lives. Your Word is truth and through it we have not only understood those things You have given to us, but lo and behold our Father, we have become sanctified in our thoughts and ways of life supernaturally through them (John 17:17). The challenge of our hearts as Your sons and daughters is how open and yielded are we to things You desire for us and from us that You have determined will bring You glory. Can I truly say that I am totally open to being fully controlled by Your ways and Your thoughts or am I straddling the fence, or am I lurking in the middle ground of my own wisdom and knowledge? Some of us never seem to grow out of certain patterns of circular emotional and psychological reasoning that at its core exalts itself against the knowledge of You or what You are doing in and through us because it may be selfish or driven by self glory and pride.
Please today, help our hearts and our attitudes be set free of those things that are blocking us from seeing all matters through the spiritual enlightenment You have made available to us. How rich and encouraging are these words of promise that are in our present devotional text? As we are growing in the knowledge of You we also will be grounded richly in the assurance of the hope of our calling in this life and the life to come. That we today will know and live in the depth of the spiritual wealth and riches and resurrecting power that You have already dispatched and assigned to our lives as those who have believed on Your Son the Lord Jesus Christ. We pray for the full enlightenment You want us to have now so that we can be fully everything in Christ You have called us to be, and with this enlightenment see our Christ for who He truly and fully is to us now and in the ages to come. We are honored that You would make such wisdom and revelation ours through the knowledge of Him. In Jesus Name, amen and amen.
