Going Through for God’s Glory
SCRIPTURE: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” II Timothy 4:7

God’s process of “through” is important to understand if we are going to mature in the disciplines of the self-life. There are four meanings for “through” that can be made applicable to the Christian walk.
(1) “Through” means that one must go “by way of.” Galatians 2:20 says “I have been crucified with Christ…” and Matthew 16:24 says “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” Going “by way of” means that the cross is the only way to salvation and one must take up the mantle of the cross each day to follow Jesus.
(2) “Through” means “a period of time.” II Corinthians 4:17 says “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory…” We must remember that our afflictions, though they seem as though they last forever, are only for a moment in the light of eternity. There is a period of time that God has assigned our afflictions. Praise the Lord!
(3) “Through” means that there are certain conditions that must be endured. John 16:33 says “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” We live in a world that hated Jesus and will hate us. There are conditions and circumstances that God has assigned for the fabric of our lives and the only thing that we can control is our response.
(4) And last, “through” also means completion. Praise God! II Timothy 4:7 says, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” There is a day on God’s agenda when our assignment in this life will be finished. The moment we said yes to Jesus and became His follower and servant began the process of emptying to grow to know the Lord Jesus and to make Him known.
PRAYER: Thank You Lord for beginning this process of conforming us to Your image to be Your witnesses for Your Glory!!!
