Prayer For A New Year 2025

Church Family, January's Devotionals are all about God's Word and Prayer.
Join Pastor Wayne Cockrell  each morning in January for prayer!
Father in heaven, we know that You are fully aware of our lives and needs as we begin a new year in our relationship with You.  We would love to tell You truthfully that we have loved You with all of our mind, soul and strength each day that You have allowed us to live, but we would know that is not totally true.  Our hearts would shrink in Your presence at the thought of Your disappointments with our failures, omissions and neglect, if it were not for the plenteous mercy You continue to greet us with when we come to You in prayer.   We bow again before You , Your Son and the Holy Spirit, at the throne of grace,  in total dependence upon the many ways Your grace has helped us, forgiven us, kept us, protected us, provided for us and directed us despite the adversity, opposition and our own weaknesses to be prone to wander.   Looking back is not always a pleasant thing for us.  It fills us with regrets, thoughts of grief and remembrances of failures, but it has been Your sustaining hand that has lifted us up and kept us moving forward toward the direction of fulfilling Your will for our lives (Psalm 37:23,24).   Yes our Father, You have been true to the testimony and teaching You have given to us, that when we have faltered in our faith, become weary in our faithfulness, You have remained faithful, because You remain true to who You are and the promises You have made unto to Your redeemed (2 Timothy 2:13).  We can sing praises of victory because You have been with us in all our battles every step of the way.

We know that You have given us everything we need to do all that You expect of us this coming year and for years to come if that be Your will for us.  We pledge our hearts to do our part better as we purpose to obey and serve You in all that You command us to do.  Now Lord our God, we praise You for us coming this far in the walk as Your children, but as we cross over, some of us are discouraged, some of us are hurt, some of us are weary, but we want to finish our course of life well pleasing to You.  Please fill us richly with Your Word and fill us to overflowing with the Holy so that we will see what You see, and feel what You feel, and think as You think as we wait for the return of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.  To Him be all praise, honor and glory forever and ever, amen and amen.
