Repent and Obey!

Scripture: “And the Lord has sent to you all His servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, but you have not listened nor inclined your ear to hear. 5 They said, ‘Repent now everyone of his evil way and his evil doings, and dwell in the land that the Lord has given to you and your fathers forever and ever. 6 Do not go after other gods to serve them and worship them, and do not provoke Me to anger with the works of your hands; and I will not harm you.’” Jeremiah 25:4-6

The truest proof of repentance is not only change, but obedience. True repentance will always obey what God wants. This is what the Lord is after. He is after repentance. God could let you be swallowed up, but He is after repentance so that you can be a vessel through whom He could pour His power. You gotta make up your mind. If you want to be someone who God uses, you have to do it God’s way. It has to be according to His Word-you operate according to His Word. God is not into torture, He’s not into continued anger, but He is into obedience. Do all according to the Lord.

Prayer: Dear God, we want to be used by you, but first we must be cleansed from our sins. We confess that we are disobedient. We do not do what You say right away. We have this sliding scale approach to obedience, and we agree with You, it is sin! Lord God, please hear our prayer. Use us for Your Glory, Lord, that we may serve You!
