Gratitude
Our GBFC Youth and Young Adults take over our Devotionals for the month of June and we look forward to the exhortation they will share. Please make sure to leave a word of encouragement in the comment section-it only takes a minute.
SCRIPTURE: “At whatever you do, whether in word or deed do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3:17

To me this verse means to be grateful and thankful for everything we have. We should be grateful, even in difficult times. We can find joy and peace in our lives with gratitude. In this, we can also find strength in our relationship with God.
Sometimes it can be hard to be grateful in our daily travels at work or in school. It’s hard for me sometimes because I don’t always understand that I have more than I actually need. My mom and dad always bring me back down to earth by telling me, “It’s by the grace of God you have anything, lil girl.” I realized that we should be thankful everyday in the good, bad, and worst of times. Whenever I go to my grandparent’s house, after breakfast, my PopPop always reads a devotional. He always explains what the devotional is about, and then he prays for us to understand God’s grace and mercy after he reads his devotional. I’m always touched by seeing how grateful my PopPop is about being able to teach us about God. I’m grateful about how God protects our family.
Being thankful to God can be such a powerful character trait. It’s proof I’m connected to Him! I’m so thankful and grateful for everything God has done for me and my family. I can now see, God has given us so much. I now know how to appreciate God! So, I encourage you to be Grateful in your life for the grace and mercies of God.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, I just want to thank You for everything You have done for me, my family, my church, and friends. Thank You for showing me Your ways, that I can show and tell others about You and Your Son, Jesus Christ. Thank You also for opening doors for me. Amen.

Amen Sister Paige. There are only two times in life we should be grateful, when we feel like it and when we don't ? Nice devotional!
Praise the Lord, Paige! Truly in everything God wants us to give thanks. Thank you, my sister!
