How To Fall Forward

From time to time our foolish choices or the unconscionable thing/s we once did in our past, rises up to remind and torment us. Don’t stay there too long, the enemy of our souls would love to see us cast down and disquieted. So this week our scripture and the Devotional Team will bring encouragement from the topic, “Freedom from Past Failures and Offenses.”

The fullest freedom addresses the past failures and prior offenses of our own doing, by choice or by circumstance, as well as the legacy of past failures and prior offenses inherited, even as far back as Adam. God Himself makes a way, to set us free, indeed... free even from the past failures and prior offenses yet to happen...blameless through the cross, meeting our reality at the intersection of then, now, and soon enough. "To the saints...faithful in Christ Jesus: Grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will, to the praise of His glorious grace, with which He has blessed us in the Beloved." Ephesians 1:1-6 [ESV]

This, we, or any other, cannot do on our own. Not even with a millennium to figure it out can we do 'this' on our own. It took the cross! Bless Jesus! Thank You, Lord!  "In Him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of His glory. In Him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in Him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of His glory." Ephesians 1:11-14

So fall forward upon the believing which saves, the believing which 'trusts and obeys', stable and steadfast. Prevail upon no other, for none other pierces the darkness, makes found the lost, and raises the dead. Tis God. For the one step to freedom, remember Jesus, with all that you are. Remember unto life, and step forward toward the prize. If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved...Justified. Sanctified. Glorified. Amen.

Shackles shattered from the past. Free at last. Yea, free at last.
My shame undone beyond the asking. Free at last. Free at last.
His giving is the highest gift. Free at last. Yea, free at last.
Sweet home awaits that gracious lift. Free at last. Yea. Free at last!

Prayer:  Lord-God, find my waiting patient and certain upon hope, sufficiently ardent of faith, prevailing in prayer, and greatly grateful for every hour of grace, and every moment mercy affords me. Find my certainty brave enough for the opportunities that You give upon every promise, and every blessing, that I bless You. Amen.
