Choose Your Cup Wisely

SCRIPTURE: “You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord’s table and of the table of demons.” 1 Corinthians 10:21
You can’t partake of the Lord’s table and of the table of demons. (You might think,) "How can I get some of that stuff from the demon table, because the demon table looks good?"  It’s appetizing, but that’s your flesh calling you. Just because it looks good and may even taste good, it’s laced with poison. It’s not healthy for you and if you touch it and taste it there may be woes for a moment of letting your mind entertain a habit or a practice that you used to do. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons.  You cannot partake of the Lord’s table and of the table of demons. Saints, we have to recognize and admit that, because recognizing and admitting is the first step to the prevention of dominance.

PRAYER: Most gracious heavenly Father, thank You for showing us our seed motivations. Your Word has exposed our transgression and we are compelled to agree with You that we have sinned. We have entertained the lust of the eyes, flesh, and the pride of life. We have been hesitant to admit these because we have liked it and we have justified it. Forgive us for being double-minded. You have told us to cleanse our hands, purify our hearts, and to draw near to You, Oh God, and You would draw near to us. Lord, we want to draw near to You, because we have tasted and seen that You are good. We pray these things in Your matchless name, Jesus. Amen!
