Come Out from Among Evil Company!

SCRIPTURE: Therefore “Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you.” 18 “I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” 2 Corinthians 6:17-18
The gentile life represents a life of sacrificing to idols. I was an idol worshipper and didn’t even recognize it. It is not just about idols, but people who serve those idols. For some of us the problem is not idols, but the people we fellowship with who serve them. You will sit there and say, “Well, I can’t think of any idols in my mind.” What about some of the people who have access to you, who can influence you, who corrupt your thinking, who are idol worshippers?  “Do not be deceived: ‘Evil company corrupts good habits.’ 34 Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.” 1 Corinthians 15:33-34 Evil company corrupts. It sometimes is the people that you have hanging on you, either because they are familiar or because they come from familiar ranks, but they have access, they have authority, they have an inroad to you. It is simply not enough for you to guard yourself, but you have to be mindful of the people around you who do not guard themselves.   They are infiltrated and infected and they try to bring it to you, like an epidemic.  Do not be deceived! You can be so deceived that you do not see the avenues through which the enemy is trying to infiltrate your life.

PRAYER: Dear God our Father, sometimes we have intentionally and unintentionally given Your worship to people and things. We are guilty for we know what your commandment says (You shall have no other gods before Me.); we know what the epistles say (Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. ), yet unguarded and most often willfully, we enter into these transgressions as a way to appease our fleshly desires. Forgive us Jesus.  Forgive us when we think that You are not enough. Forgive us when we decide that Your sufficiency is lacking. Forgive us when we chose the way that seems right to us. Jar us awake from this stupor and Lord give us a spirit of discernment to carefully, purposefully, and spiritually ascertain the things and people that have inroads to us. It is in Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Amen . Let us not confuse the pleasantry and acceptability of certain shadows as light. LORD guide us to discern well, and to step accordingly.
