The Apron of Servanthood

Scripture: Matthew 20:28 “Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and give His life a ransom for many.”
Involve your life in the lives of other people. Christ and the disciples constantly met the needs of other people. We can stabilize our own hearts during times of difficulty by serving others, and then find that our service has brought us a sense of satisfaction and emotional healing.

During Jesus’ time, the Gentile leaders dictated by using carnal power and authority. We as believers, however, are to do just the opposite. We lead by being servants and giving ourselves away to others as Jesus did. The apron of servanthood is a must for every believer in Jesus Christ. If you have deep heart issues against God’s people and avoid serving because of what a few have done to you, then check your heart. Maybe it’s you and not “those Christians.”

Servanthood begins in the heart as an attitude before it is flushed out into works. Jesus said in John 13:35 “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” People may doubt what you say, but they will always believe what you do.

Prayer: Thank You Lord for “the one size fits all” apron of servanthood.
