A High-Jacked Mind

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 10:5 New King James Version (NKJV) 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, Reference: 1 Peter 5:8, 2 Timothy 3:16

I have to take every thought CAPTIVE
This mind of mines is frequently ACTIVE

My mind accepts all thoughts, if I ALLOW
The ones that are pure, also the ones that are FOUL

Thoughts have been collected since the day I was BORN
My development is shaped around thoughts that are STORED

These thoughts have left an everlasting IMPRESSION
Thoughts arise, but they should be carefully EXAMINED

Either way, thoughts are persistent and CONSISTENT
When each thought come, it's difficult to resist IT

Even in prayers, while making PETITIONS
Thoughts interrupt by tugging for ATTENTION

Regrettably, I’ve allowed thoughts to compete with my SPIRIT
Questioning whether I should disclose the thought or conceal IT

While praying to keep my mind on HIM
Thoughts are high-jacked and directed to SIN

Persuading my perspectives, actions, and FEELINGS
Altering pure thinking for what’s fleshly APPEALING

Godly thoughts are stolen, worldly ideas ARISE
Evil persists, tempting me to COMPROMISE

So, I must rely on preventive measure to avoid thoughts being high JACKED
Immediately comparing and evaluating ideas with scriptures ATTACHED

The Word of God strongly commands us to take every thought CAPTIVE
2 Timothy 3:16, rebukes and corrects unwarranted ideas to be RETRACTED

(Prayer)  Lord, help me police these thoughts. Even unintentionally they pop up. It’s clear, I can’t do this alone. Thank you, Lord, for Your scriptures. I can compare what my thoughts and ideas suggest. I will hide Your Word in my heart to contend. Consume my mind Lord with biblical precepts. You are worthy to be praise. No wavering. Never changing. And you promised to be with me when I am attacked. I love You Father!
