THE CHURCH: Peace in the Church Should Spill into the World
45 Days of Praying for the Elections - DAY 28
SCRIPTURE: “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.” Colossians 3:15

Peace is a state of being. By definition, peace is a state of tranquility and freedom from things like violence, inequality, negative thoughts, and danger preconceived or otherwise. But how can we have peace in this world of ungodliness, violence, danger, and lawlessness? How do followers of Christ embody and display peace in today’s society? Philippians 4, tells us how we can have the type of peace that only the Lord can give.
We should:
1. Rejoice in the Lord always (Philippians 4:4)
2. Let your gentleness be known to man (Philippians 4:5)
3. Don’t worry about anything but pray and plead earnestly to God with thanksgiving about everything. And everything is like All in that it includes EVERYTHING. (Philippians 4:6)
When these things are done the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will protect your heart and mind. Understand that it is important even in these times that you meditate on the things that are true, just, noble, pure, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8). We must allow the peace of God to dictate our moods, control our thoughts, and ultimately our behavior. As directed in Colossians 3:12, we must put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, patience, and forgiveness. It is important to let the peace of God rule in your heart because out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks (Luke 6:45). We, the church, are responsible to represent peace, show peace, and live peaceably among the world. As the church is seemingly divided by the upcoming elections let us remember who we represent when speaking to those who don’t agree with us. Let peace be the cloak that you wear when weathering today’s changing climate.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you asking for clarity for the body of Christ. I come asking for peace in a world that is ravished with ungodliness. Lord, give Your people wisdom and let us walk as one body with multiple moving parts representing You well in all situations. Lord, remind us that during these turbulent times we can be at peace. Show us clearly Your way and Your will. Lord, forgive us for being wishy washy on your precepts as they relate to the world we live in. Strengthen us where we are weak, give us wisdom where we lack it, and courage to stand firmly on Your word when challenged. Thank you, Lord for new mercies. Thank you for clarity of choice. Thank you, for Jesus the Christ who died for our sins and rose so that we may live. In the matchless name of Jesus, Amen.

Amen Sis. Pat. This topic brings out passionate liberal and conservatives. Speaking the truth is the goal that is sometimes not achieved. May we give each other grace until God reveals His truth.
Amen,Sis Pat .Such a strengthened Devotional!!
"Blessed are the peacemakers." May the church arise, to raise, knowing Him risen!
