Handling Difficult Circumstances as A Christian Athlete

Our month of Devotionals from our Gen B.FY comes to a close today with the youngest member of our team. As he brings us encouragement through God's Word and his Devotional give thanks to the Lord for him and our 10 other Gen B.FY for their walk with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, their transparency, and their willingness to share! We pray your hearts were encouraged!
SCRIPTURE: “And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.” Deuteronomy 31:8:
In times of disappointment and uncertainty, this Scripture reminded me that the Lord is my light and salvation, my stronghold in every situation. Since the Lord was my light, I knew I should shine it even when facing the disappointment of not making the travel soccer team this year. It was natural for me to feel discouraged or disheartened, especially after making the team last year and enjoying the experience. This verse encouraged me to find my strength and courage in God's presence. Just as David found comfort through the Lord in his trials, I too can draw near to God, knowing that He is my protector.

So despite not making the soccer team, I chose to trust in God's plan for my life. It was easy to question why things didn't turn out as I hoped, but Deuteronomy 31:8 tells me that I can trust in God's timing and purpose. By letting Him handle my disappointment, I found peace knowing that He sees the bigger picture and the overall outcome. This experience taught me patience and resilience, spiritually growing in my faith as I leaned on God for guidance and comfort.

Prayer:  Dear God, You're like a flashlight in the dark, helping me not to be scared. You're my safe place where I hide, and You make me strong inside. When I feel afraid or lost, You're the one who helps me most. Thank You for Your love, that's true, and for everything You do for me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
