Temptation Will Not Win Me Over
Our Genesis Bible Fellowship Youth and Young Adults (Gen. B.FY) have us recalling where we were in our early walk with Christ? Are these devotionals jogging your memories? Saints, be encouraged and please encourage our Gen. B.FY.
SCRIPTURE: “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” I Corinthians 10:13
I want to talk about my experience against temptation today. I chose to return for the second semester of this school year, which came with classes I had never taken before, but it was a difficult yet significant decision. The classwork was overwhelming and mixing that with my job made me doubt myself and wonder if I couldn’t finish these classes. I even considered taking a different route for the future that didn’t include college.
As I prayed to God for guidance on these problems and then looked to the Bible for guidance and understanding for where I was at in my life. I was reminded that God has made me a strong man by the verse above, which helped me deal with my thoughts and temptations that can lead me astray. This verse also taught me that I shouldn’t have to face temptation on my own because God is with me every step of the way during the difficult periods I face.
Throughout the semester I have seen improvements in my work, I found a good system for my job and classwork. As I ended the semester on a strong note, I was reminded that I’m capable of anything and God has no limitations on what He can do for His children.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for reminding me that You have made me a strong man, capable of overcoming any challenge the world sends my way. You know the challenges and temptation I faced during the past semester and I thank You for allowing me to talk about it to my brothers and sisters. I pray that this testimony may encourage every saint this reaches as it may hopefully inspire not only them but myself in our walk with Christ. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray amen.

Amen & Amen Bro Jahir. Thank you for these encouragement much needed today. Bless you
Amen. God is a 'way-maker', where in the midst of what we may view as oppressive realities, or irresistible noises, or even the sedating effect of 'same-old, same-old, not much new', He offers the clarity, and the encouragement to take the good step forward and trust. "God is." Seek Him where you are.
n'This is the day that the LORD has made, and we shall rejoice and be glad in it.'
nBlessings Brother Jahir, and Genesis family.
