THIS I KNOW …YOU’RE STRONG!
June will feature Devotionals written by our GBFC Youth. It is good to read godly inspiration from our youth. Be encouraged by God's Word working in the hearts of our young people.
SCRIPTURE: “Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.” Proverbs 12:25
Depression can cast a heavy burden on our hearts, leaving us feeling weighed down and overwhelmed. But during this struggle, there is something we can hold onto: this I know - God’s kindness and encouragement can lift us up and help us overcome.
This I know: God sees our pain and understands the depths of our despair. He longs to bring comfort and healing to our wounded hearts. Proverbs 12:25 reminds us of the power of kind words to cheer us up. In times of darkness, God can use the words and actions of others to remind us of His love and offer us hope. Sometimes, all it takes is a gentle word of encouragement or a simple act of kindness to ignite a spark of light during depression’s darkness.
God can use even the smallest gestures to remind us that we are not alone, that He is walking alongside us, and that there is a community of support and love surrounding us. As we journey through the battle against depression, let us hold onto this truth: God’s kindness is always available to us. It may come in the form of a friend’s comforting presence, a timely word of encouragement, or a heartfelt prayer. This I know: God’s love and compassion can pierce through the shadows of depression and bring restoration to our weary souls.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, in the midst of my battle with depression, I cling to the truth that Your kindness and encouragement can lift me up. Open my eyes to see the acts of love and support You have placed in my life. Help me to receive and cherish the kind words and gestures of others. Fill me with hope and remind me that I am not alone on this journey. In Jesus’ name, amen.
