Symptoms of Discouragement

Scripture:  Nehemiah 4:10 - Then Judah said, “The strength of the laborers is failing, and there is so much rubbish that we are not able to build the wall.”

I’ve noticed the symptoms of my discouragement
There are four things I’ve considered as a detriment

The daily task before me has labored my soul
Fatigue starts to sit in, as challenges unfold

So, I become weary throughout these battles and struggles
I am not able to rest with all the chaos, deceptions, and troubles

Frustration builds and creates an hinderance in my progression
Seeking resources of the world rather than my source in Heaven

Accrued failures cause and generate doubts during dilemmas
Now, I’m turning away from God’s truth by aborting His agenda  

Then, I begin looking outward rather than upward with my eyes
The last symptom of discouragement is when fears begin to rise

However, the Lord is able, so discouragement is curable
Seek the Lord’s sovereignty to create a plan that’s durable

Recognize and address what’s hindering the completion of the task
Rest, refocus, rebuild, and renew a divine and marvelous draft

Prayer:  Discouragement creeps up frequently. Lord, You have lessons in Your Word that reveal faithfulness. You have provided a way since the beginning of time. You are enough! You are strong when I am weak. You are my delivery! You are my savior! Lord, You are worthy! Have mercy on me Lord! I make this petition in the name of Jesus!
