Anytime, Anywhere
Scripture: I Thessalonians 5:17 NKJ - PRAY WITHOUT CEASING
Many will agree that it can be challenging to hear God when so much clamor is happening in our midst. Today's wild football game parties, backyard cookouts, or holiday public fireworks displays are among the many circumstances that bring along overbearing clamor.
I recall my college days while residing in my dormitory room. There were constant voices/noises to contend. I found it difficult to tune out background distractions. I come from a home environment that stresses quietness during homework and other activities of learning. I recall functioning best in a quiet zone. To thrive amidst the dormitory's clamor, I would come to retrain myself to survive this new environment. Sounds like a good plan?
Believers should have the capacity to meditate on God's Word, study His Word (for it changes men), think about His goodness, and receive what He has for believers, no matter what is going on about them. It is the work of the Holy Spirit indwelling, taking believers where they need to be spiritually. God is intently present within you -- teaching and guiding. Beloved, set your heart to seek His presence at anytime, anywhere, especially when clamor tries to shut Him out.
The reality of life is that circumstances will come anytime and anywhere. Each situation carries a level of frustration and pressure. Believers are not to lose hope or give in to the enemy. Don't think that there is some strange thing that happens to you only. Therefore, with the strength you have, fall to your knees and cry out to the Lord. Pray for a breakthrough. Wait and watch for a spiritual intervention. Pray without ceasing to the God who is present with you. He is the one who has the power to make a difference. Be still and let God be God. Reflect on His goodness and meditate on His promises. He is always with you (Heb. 13:5), a very present help in time of need (Ps. 46:1b). The Lord is closer than the sound in your ear. Jesus is the solution to every stormy circumstance. Listen for His voice. He speaks amid the clamor.
Prayer: You are the Lord of my life. For with Your outstretched arm, I am delivered, restored, and sustained in every situation. I delight in Your faithfulness anytime, anywhere. In Jesus' name, Amen
