A Customized Calling

(Scripture) Acts 13:1-5:  1 Now in the church that was at Antioch there were certain prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. 2 As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” 3 Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away. 4 So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus. 5 And when they arrived in Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews. They also had John as their assistant.

I realized, I am divinely CUSTOMIZED
Uniquely made with God’s purpose in MIND

I am called for an ordained MISSION
My growth in the faith validates this POSITION

A man with understanding seeks and finds his PURPOSE
Working out my own salvation to conduct godly SERVICE

This calling aligns with salvation, gifts, and PASSION
I have the tools to maximize His will in FASHION

I am tailored made for this calling and ROLE
Adhering to the will of God is the primary GOAL

It’s about the Lord and only Him I shall LEAN
His will is much bigger than any American DREAM

So, I except the call to fulfill my purposeful STORY
I am ordained and equipped to bring the Lord GLORY

Therefore, my contribution is a piece of the kingdom’s PUZZLE
Its agenda must be known through me for the sake of OTHERS

(Prayer) Lord, You saved me for You. I am equipped with what I need to fulfill Your will. Often, I am either afraid or unwilling to walk in my calling. Also, my will gets in the way as well. Continue to show me the gifts and where you want me to use them. Convict me! Direct me! Encourage me! Your Word says, if You are for me, who can be against me. Remove what’s stopping me from taking the call Lord. Give me boldness! And I will be careful to give You all the glory. In the name of Jesus!
