See Christ

SCRIPTURE: “When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, ‘Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?’ So they said, ‘Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.’ He said to them, ‘But who do you say that I am?’ Simon Peter answered and said, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.’ Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.’” Matthew 16:13-17
What happens to our faith when God fulfills His promises? All of sudden our faith gains an enormous amount of sight! Jesus Christ, God the Son, was a fulfillment of God’s promise to Israel when their bleak circumstances were seemingly overwhelming. Israel was taken into Babylonian captivity when Jeremiah prophesied of the Messiah. Jeremiah 23:5-6 says, “’Behold, the days are coming,’ says the Lord,  ‘That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper, and execute judgment and  righteousness in the earth. 6 In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell safely; Now this is His name by which He will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.’” God’s sweetest love is wrapped all up in Christ.

Peter, proclaimed in Matthew 16:16, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Peter’s bold statement referring to Jesus’ identity, captured precious TRUTH. Peter’s response expressed his own personal FAITH in Christ’s deity. Take a look at this segment of scripture. We actually encounter the legitimacy of our unique faith and the authority by which Christ is our all and all.

Jesus, though the Son of God, He is unequivocally God the Son! All of who Christ is: our Savior and Deliverer, our Ruler and King; He is the promised ANOINTED One! He is the One we hang all of our faith. He is who we serve and submit. Therefore, we gain awesome direction which will ultimately land us in heaven, our eternal home with Him, the Holy Spirit, and the Father.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for the revelation of all of Your promises. They are pure proof of Your everlasting love toward us. Help us to always “see” You high and lifted up; and cause us to set all our affections upon You and not to settle for the things and cares of this world. Thank You for all of what You are doing through us; Help us to forever give You, our Lord, all Praise, all Honor and all Glory! In Jesus’ Name-Amen!
