I Am Gifted! pt2
Scripture: 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills. 12 For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:11-12
The Holy Spirit works in each Christian and gives us one or more Spiritual gifts. Why are these gifts necessary? For the proper functioning of the body and that nothing would be lacking in our fellowship. This is day two of introducing Spiritual Gifts. We pray that this brief description of each gift and examples of how that gift is applied has been helpful.
GIFT OF EVANGELISM: Ephesians 4:11 (And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, ) - to be a messenger of the good news of the Gospel (Greek Word: euaggelistes - preacher of gospel; eu=well, angelos=message - messenger of good) (EXAMPLE: Cross-Cultural, Missions, Other Outreach, Witnessing)
GIFT OF EXHORTATION: Romans 12:8 ( he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.) - to come along side of someone with words of encouragement, comfort, consolation, and counsel to help them be all God wants them to be (Greek Word: paraklesis - calling to one's side) (EXAMPLE: Counseling, Shepherding, Speaking, Staffing, Staff Support, Teaching, Worship)
GIFT OF GIVING: Romans 12:8 ( he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.) - to share what material resources you have with liberality and cheerfulness without thought of return (EXAMPLE: Benevolence, Biblical Stewardship)
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I recognize that You have gifted each believer for a purpose in kingdom living. We are saved not to walk about aimlessly, but to walk with purpose. You desire that every member of the body would supply what is necessary for growth of the entire body. Show me where I fit in, Lord Jesus. Reveal to me my gift/s so that I may walk out my faith with godly confidence. You said that You began this work in me and with You leading me, I want to work in tandem with You to perform it. Amen
