No Praise, No Gain

Scripture:  James 5:13 - Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms.

Trouble will eventually find me
However, it’s not meant to define me

For His glory, I have been groomed and raised
Even in suffering, He is worthy to be praised

As I face the seasons, all will not be pleasing
Trouble and torment exist for His purposes and reasons

Trials are no surprise, in fact, they are expected
Meanwhile, praise must continue in the Lord’s direction

My circumstances shouldn’t justify my mood, reaction, or voice
The gain from my praise is a victorious choice

Nothing should disturb the desire to serve
Conditions are unpleasant, yet praise must be heard

My praise makes a difference for the benefit of others
It encourages observers who also may be suffering

Remaining dedicated to witnessing for Christ
Despite any pain, praise must persist in life

So, if you are dancing through storms in the rain
More than likely, you have an understanding no praise, no gain

Prayer:  Lord, we understand that choosing Your will includes pain and suffering. However, You also provided our comfort and covering. You gave us memory to remind ourselves that You are and will be with us. Therefore, when the pain hits, we can rejoice! When the suffering surfaces, we can praise You! Lord, You are in control. We bless You, in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ, Amen!
