Corona Chronicles – Daily Routines

Scripture: Proverbs 16:3 - Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established.
Colossians 3:23 NKJV - And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.
Waking up and getting ready like it’s a normal day hasn’t been the norm for many people since around March 13, 2020. That was the last day we were able to do what we wanted to do, when, where, how and with whom we wanted to. Nowadays depending on where you live, you might not even be able to get your teeth cleaned or do anything that would be routine in your world.
Each day, we make choices and decisions about any and everything. How often do we consider our motive for those choices and decisions?? Do we consult with God before we make them? EVERY choice? EVERY decision?? I will venture to say that I KNOW I don’t. Be honest – you don’t either! Think about it – if we talked to God about everything we do in our lives, our decisions and actions would match His instructions in His Word. We probably wouldn’t have to learn the same lesson(s) over and over again. But even in those repeated trials, the blessing is that God keeps us while we’re in them, even when we are the ones that created the mess He gets us out of! That’s a GREAT place to shout right there!!! *PRAISE BREAK*
At times, I find myself talking myself through my own foolishness. Ok don’t act like I’m the only one … because I KNOW I’m not! The Lord clearly instructs you on what and how to deal with something, but you decide to lean on your own understanding and then BOOM – you’ve created a mess, one that seems unfixable. Who do you call on? I mean AFTER you talk to your friends and try to justify your unguided, emotional decisions? Yep, you find yourself calling on the One who told you what to do in the first place. Be thankful that He keeps His promise: He will be with you always – ALWAYS!! And on top of that, He doesn’t lie, His Word is true, He has and can never fail! Now ain’na that Good News?!?! And He doesn’t hold our mess against us. All we have to do is confess, repent, pray and ask Him to help us do better.
No matter what we do or aspire to do, we should talk to God about it. Include Him in everything – EV VUH REE THING! That shows Him your desire to be in His will, your humbleness to be used by Him for His glory and your gratefulness to Him for choosing you as a vessel for His kingdom. He doesn’t even need us! He creates opportunities for us to be used by Him! What a MIGHTY God we serve! So align your thoughts with His Word, seek Him and His ways, commit everything you do to Him … so that your thoughts may be established and so that men will see your good works and glorify Him – the only, wise, praiseworthy God our Father!
Prayer: Father, so many times I wonder how do You put up with me?? Then I remember – there is NOBODY like You!! Your love never fails, never gives up, it never runs out on me! It’s RECKLESS!! You would go to the ends of the earth for me! Matter of fact, You have – many, many times! I will never understand how deep Your love is for me … NEVER! How dare I not obey Your Word, consult with You in all I do and commit to doing Your will! Too often my ways don’t match Your Word. I haven’t talked to You as much as I should, and I haven’t surrendered my all to You. For that and so much more, I humbly ask for Your forgiveness, Father! Help me keep my mind on You so that I can hear Your voice … so that I can go where You want me to go and do what You want me to do. I wanna trust You more and more – it’s not just a song, it’s my heart’s desire! Thank You for hearing my heart’s cry … in Jesus’ Name we always pray! AMEN!
This devotion is submitted in loving memory of Mason Lowry and Raymond Whye. Both of these God-fearing men believed in encouraging others along the life’s journey through their gifts of evangelism. They spread the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They did what God called them to do. Let’s honor God and the lives of these men by using our gifts to edify the body of Christ, here and abroad. Brother Mason and Brother Ray, you are loved, you are missed and your lives will continue to be celebrated, to the Glory of God!
