Press On
Scripture: I Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord for you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”
Persevere – No matter how difficult it is or how long it is, God’s timing makes it all worthwhile. Calvin Coolidge said “PRESS ON. Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful individuals with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.”
Abraham pressed on to receive the “son of promise;” Ruth pressed on to know the True and Living God that positioned her to be in the lineage of the Lord Jesus Christ; Mary of Bethany pressed on by choosing to sit at the feet of Jesus, thereby, being prepared for His upcoming death; and many, many more testify of the perseverance of the saints. But the ultimate demonstration of perseverance was our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who pressed all the way to Calvary for you and I. Oh what LOVE!!
I know that the journey gets tiring; I know that at times the enemy seems to be getting the upper hand; I know that nothing seems to be changing, but just “PRESS ON” because one day it will all be worth it. Praise Him!! Live today to the fullest. Remember it’s the first day of the rest of your life.
Prayer: Today is all that You have entrusted to me, so I seek Your strength to PRESS ON today for Your glory and praise.
