Faith Challenge

SCRIPTURE: “Then He said, 'Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.'” Genesis 22:2
First Peter 1:8-9 says, “Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith – the salvation of your souls.” The end result of Abraham’s faith challenge was the deliverance of Isaac and God’s glory.
The Lord loves to bless His people with good things. Psalm 84:11b says, “No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.” Yet, we fear giving back to Him what is rightfully His. He must be enthroned in our heart as first and most. When we love Him and experience Him we mature in our love relationship with Him. People and things then begin to take on a different perspective in our hearts.

As the Lord tested Abraham to give up Isaac, we realize that He has to test the things on the throne of our heart so that our “Isaac” can be given up and put in its rightful place. When we give these “idols” back to Him, we come to experience these as His blessings to enjoy. As you fall more in love with Jesus let Him fill you with those things that will glorify Him and last for eternity!!

PRAYER: Falling in love with Jesus truly is the best thing that can ever happen in the life of a sinner. Thank You for choosing each one of us Lord to know You and make You known. May the things of this world grow strangely dim in the light of Your Glory and Grace.
