Great is Thy Faithfulness
SCRIPTURE: “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

As people, we need to be a part of a pack. Studies show that humans are the ultimate pack animals and when we separate from the pack our mental state can be affected. This pack need is why sororities, fraternities, gangs, bowling leagues, Friendsgiving events, game nights, and fellowships still thrive. One of the main components of the pack is loyalty. And in order for the pack to continue there must be a few faithful members. Faithful, by definition, is showing true and constant support or loyalty. These persons keep the group honest. They tend to be true to the facts and the standard that was originally set. For example, when a patriarch dies, and another takes his place, this person usually represents the standards that were set before.
In the Christian family, the pack is lead by the most faithful leader the world has ever known. His standards are impeccable and His loyalty unmatched. God, the Father, has never faltered even when the family has. God, the Father has never forsaken us even when we have forsaken Him. God, the Father, has shown immeasurable love toward us even when we did not love ourselves.
Can you hear the words of the song in your head as you think of the Lord’s faithfulness? “Great is Thy Faithfulness. Oh, God my Father, there is no shadow of turning with Thee; Thou changes not, Thy compassions, they fail not. As Thou hast been Thou forever will be.” How awesome is that? The God you serve is indeed committed to serving you, to uplifting you, and He won’t stop. When life is doing it’s thing and a member of the pack is going through, we can rest on the faithfulness of God. “Great is His faithfulness. GREAT IS HIS FAITHFULNESS! Morning by morning new mercies we see. All that we have needed His Hand has provided – Great is His faithfulness, Lord, unto me!” The Lord’s faithfulness has never faltered, will never falter, and can never be matched. He has been and will always be faithful to His children.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for Your loyalty toward us. Thank You for loving us despite our failures. Thank You for new mercies that are given daily. Great, indeed, is Your Faithfulness. We often go through a myriad of emotions when we realize that we have not always been loyalty to You, but You have never failed to be loyal to us. Forgive us Lord, for being selfish, for withholding our love from You by being disobedient. Thank You, Father, for checking our thoughts, for bringing us back into the fold, for grace and mercy. Thank You, Lord for Your Son, Jesus the Christ, who died and rose so that we would live. In the matchless name of Jesus, Amen
