How Can This Outcome Be Well With My Soul

Praying for the Elections
SCRIPTURE: "As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. 2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? 3 My tears have been my food day and night, while they continually say to me, “Where is your God?” 4 When I remember these things, I pour out my soul within me. For I used to go with the multitude; I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast. 5 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance. 6 O my God, my soul is cast down within me; therefore I will remember You from the land of the Jordan, and from the heights of Hermon, from the Hill Mizar. 7 Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; all Your waves and billows have gone over me. 8 The Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night His song shall be with me— A prayer to the God of my life. 9 I will say to God my Rock, “Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?” 10 As with a breaking of my bones, My enemies reproach me, while they say to me all day long,
“Where is your God?” 11 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God." Psalms 42
What I have discovered in this life, and on this side of eternity is that my faith tends to shrink with opposition or unexpected outcome. Though I rejoice in Ephesians 3:20, “God is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above what we could ask or think, according to the power that works in us;” I tend to fear what I do not understand. I am so grateful that Christ’s abilities are never dependent upon my faith or what I possess. Therefore, if He chooses to give us the win we desire in this election, or not, He still deserves Great Glory!
There are times we may feel like all in this nation and world is wrong. But what Christ has done for us has made it possible for us to have hope. He has promised He will never forsake us. No circumstance or outcome can change what we have in our Savior, the Lord Jesus. He is so much greater than anything we can go through, even politically. I am absolutely grateful, when He takes away all other options; then I have no place else to go, but to Him.

Bad days should encourage our hearts to search the scriptures. We search to understand how we can trust our Lord even when things are not the way we want them. The three Hebrew boys refused to deny our Lord (Daniel 3).... God saved them in the fire. Yes, He did! With all the Power The Lord has, He will still refuse to move mountains that stand before us. Yes, He will allow us to come to the end of ourselves. However, God is our “Immanuel”; He will always be with us. He is indeed true; and able to deliver us from all of our fears!

PRAYER: Lord, we thank You for Your promises of love unto the day we leave this earth and thereafter. You, oh Lord, have ways of strengthening us and carrying us through what we did not believe we could make it through. Thank You, for Your great and miraculous provisions today and always. In Jesus’ Name...Amen!
