THE CHURCH: Christian Soldiers Suited and Booted

SCRIPTURE: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
The command to be strong is a war cry to battle weary soldiers who have been exhausted by grueling combat. Can you imagine Christians soldiers in our government, courts, schools, and military who were blindsided by policies that were in direct conflict to their faith? Try to put yourself in their position as daily they put on the whole armor of God and fight against the wiles of the devil. Their waists are girded with truth, their chest protected by the breastplate of righteousness, their feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, in their arms the shield of faith to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one, their heads covered with the helmet of salvation, and in their hands the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. (Ephesians 6:14-17)

Church family, there are a remnant of believers in places of leadership that have not bowed the knee to baal. Pray that their courage will not wane and that they will do all to stand for a godly basis for law, even if it means that no one else stands with them, for we know that the King of Glory stands with them. “WHO is this King of Glory? The Lord, strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.” (Psalm 24:8-10). To our battle weary Christian soldiers in leadership, “Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

Prayer: Heavenly Father, what a privilege to represent You in our places of employment. We want to be salt and light witnesses among our co-workers who don’t understand our reason for hope. We want to be strong in our faith, not wavering or compromising Your truth, fully persuaded that You are able to keep what we have committed to You until that Day. We thank You, Jesus, for the privilege of being a soldier in your army. Amen.
