45 Days of Praying for the Elections

Sin can come in many ways. It is mankind’s ultimate and foremost problem. Adam in his fall from the grace of God became man’s federal head. However, his leadership brought us into a sin nature. This reality of sin can bring only death.

But God in His infinite wisdom was not surprised by the fall of Adam and the great need of man. No, He had a plan before time began. In the fullness of time, He sent His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ by way of a virgin birth to die for our sins (Galatians 4:4). This is absolutely equivocally Awesome-Hallelujah!!! The coming of God the Son was providential; and He is “a so much greater” federal head for man; He brought us Hope!

We are in the season of casting votes for governmental leaders and imperfect plans. May we be mindful to pray for not only what and who we will vote for, but may we remember to pray for the process by which votes are counted. May we ask God to move on the hearts of those who have a bent to tamper with our governmental processes. That they would have an encounter with the Lord Jesus; and either gain a reverential fear (like Zacchaeus in Luke 19) or run away in shame (like the rich young ruler in Matthew 19).

Prayer: Lord, we thank You for Jesus and His Great Power to turn man from their sin. He has the Power to redeem us and to impute His righteousness to us. We know apart from Him, we are absolutely hopeless. So God, let this election season be one that we can identify Your unique and miraculous Hand, Favor and Power. We understand Your Will will always be done and we are grateful...In Jesus’ Name-Amen!
