Our Nation and the Issues It Faces: Corporate Rejection of The Word Of God

45 Days of Praying for the Elections
SCRIPTURE: “How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? For scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge. Turn at my rebuke; surely, I will pour out my Spirit on you; I will make my words known to you.” Proverbs 1:22-23
The Pledge of Allegiance was written in 1892 by socialist minister Francis Bellamy and
read: “I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation,
indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” By 1923, it read: “I pledge allegiance to the Flag of
the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible,
with liberty and justice for all.”

In 1954, in response to the Communist threat of the times, President Eisenhower encouraged Congress to add the words “under God,” creating the 31-word pledge we say today. Bellamy’s daughter objected to this alteration. Today it reads: “I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

Solomon challenges us in Proverbs 1:22 of how dangerous it is to listen to the lies of Satan and make choices individually or as a nation (Romans1:18-22). We become “simple ones” who love ignorance or sinners who begin to flatter themselves in their wickedness and call good evil and evil good. Or we become scorners who despise and reject truth or fools who have no true knowledge and follow their own devices without any reverence to God. This lack of wisdom and fear of a Holy God opens the door for God to give these individuals or nation up to a reprobate mind (Romans 1:24-32).

Yes, this is the spiritual condition of our nation with each individual making their own choice
as to their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us to repent and receive God’s gift of salvation. (Ephesians 2:8-9) and for those of us who are saved (II Chronicles 7:14) to turn from our wicked ways also. We are still here as salt and light in whatever places the Lord Jesus Christ has us to influence by His Spirit.

Prayer: Lord may our desire be to please You and to share the Gospel. May we have a greater desire to read, study, and obey Your Word that Your wisdom can be witnessed and experienced. Even so come Lord Jesus!!!
