Our Nation and The Issues It Faces: The Judges of This Nation
45 Days of Praying for the Elections
SCRIPTURE: “But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.” James 3:17
The work of the federal courts touches upon many of the most significant issues affecting the American people, and federal judges exercise wide authority and discretion in the cases over which they preside. The Code of Conduct for United States Judges includes the ethical canons that apply to federal judges and provides guidance on their performance of official duties and engagement in a variety of outside activities.
As we experience the wisdom and lack of wisdom that is sometimes displayed through different issues presented to us as citizens, we need to earnestly pray for our judges. James stresses that earthly wisdom is demonic and is seen through selfish ambition that brings confusion and tears down through evil intent. However, godly wisdom, which is from above, shows concern for others through a gentle, merciful spirit that would be beneficial.
We must pray that the Lord would raise up godly judges or even convert those already in position that would have the heart and mind of God to make godly decisions beneficial to this country. I think of Samuel who was given to the Lord by his mother Hannah and because of her obedience to keep her vow to the Lord, he was used mightily as a judge against the corrupt priesthood in Israel. As we are experiencing much corruption and evil may we be diligent in seeking the Lord’s Hand upon those that He has sovereignly allowed to be in these positions.
Prayer: Father, you know each judge that You have allowed to be in this position. May the saved continue to obey Your Word and stand and may the unsaved have a divine encounter with You for salvation because each will give an account at the judgment seat of Christ.

Amen Lord, give these judges the boldness, conviction and wisdom to speak what is truth and what is right.
Amen! I pray that those in our goverment are moved to make Godly decisions and lean not to their own understanding
Amen??Thank you Sis. Cheryl for reminding that our hope is in the Lord, and that we are to earnestly pray for our leaders, including the judges of the Supreme Court. We have a God who is Sovereign, and no matter what happens, He is Supreme, He is our King, and He is still on the throne.
Amen!??
