Morning by Morning New Mercies I See
SCRIPTURE: “This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. 22 Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.”
A brand-new mercy awaits today that is sufficient for all your day entails. You won’t know that these mercies were needed until the day’s end, but it should bring you comfort that these mercies were foreordained before light and dark, before firmament above and below were created. How did God know I would need this? His sovereignty is expansive, unpredictable, wondrous, and keeps us in awe. Job concluded that, “He is unique and who can make Him change, whatever His soul desires, that He does.” Job 23:13
So we praise God that His soul desires brand new mercies for us everyday and it is because of these mercies we are not utterly consumed by the cares of this day. Let me tell you, the cares of this day can try to take us down to the depths and torrents of despair, but my God, my God, my God and His mercies fail not, for He is able to keep that which we have committed to Him against that day! In the end, we must be like the Psalmist and recall to mind. Yes, remember what God has done for you-His testimony of His wonderful works towards the children of men and give Him thanks. Recall to mind so that we can have hope, a great consolation of His great compassion of brand-new mercies every morning, because great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me!
Prayer: Thank You Jesus for every bit of grace and mercy reserved for me. I thank You for Your compassions and faithfulness which You give abundantly and not just to me, but to everyone who puts their trust in You. Thank You, Jesus. Thank You!
