The Body of Christ is Still Salt & Light
When our hearts break at the course our country is taking, we should not be in despair, but in prayer. Our God sees all and no creature is hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. Our Devotional Team has done a marvelous job tackling the subject, “The Climate of Our Country and the Christian.” We pray that your hearts have been encouraged!
SCRIPTURE: “9 To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against Him. 10 We have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God, to walk in His laws, which He set before us by His servants the prophets.” Daniel 9:9-10,
“18 O my God, incline Your ear and hear; open Your eyes and see our desolations, and the city which is called by Your name; for we do not present our supplications before You because of our righteous deeds, but because of Your great mercies. 19 O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and act! Do not delay for Your own sake, my God, for Your city and Your people are called by Your name.” Daniel 9:18-19

The Star-Spangled Banner, My Country Tis of Thee, God Bless America, The Battle Hymn of the Republic, and Lift Every Voice and Sing – all songs found in our hymnals that give testimony of the rich heritage of this country, our faith in God and the price paid for life and liberty. These songs reference “In God is our trust;” “Our father’s God to Thee, Author of liberty;” “Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord,” and “God of our weary years, God of our silent tears” – words that are now just words. At different seasons in our history, they had substance and meaning because there was a biblical foundation in this country behind these songs.
As stated in Daniel 9:9-10 we as a nation have rebelled against God. It is expected from unbelievers, but as Daniel stated we – God’s chosen people have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God or to walk in His ways, thus God’s judgement has begun at the house of God. We are feeling the effects of the ungodliness of same sex marriage, gender confusion, abortion, lawlessness, and just wickedness abounding, BUT GOD!!!
The Body of Christ is still here to be salt and light wherever we are placed. We are to be the heart, hands, and feet of Jesus because such were some of us! What an awesome time to share the glorious Gospel through tracts and verbal witnessing because truly the harvest is plenteous, but the laborers are few. As we have been planted by the Lord Jesus Christ for such a time as this may we choose to bloom where we are planted.
Prayer: Father, burden our hearts for souls that we may be used in this ordained eternal season. Give us Your Holy Spirit boldness to speak truth in season and out of season only desiring for You to bring souls into Your kingdom and for You Glory!! Even so come LORD JESUS!!!
