Jesus, Our Victory
Our week of focusing on fear draws to an end. We pray that you've committed these scriptures to memory, because we will need them the next time fear raises its ugly head. Enjoy these last two days of inspiration from our devotional writers as they wrap up the next two days with the topic “Victory Over Fear.”
SCRIPTURE: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7
SCRIPTURE: “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” 1 John 4:18

Family, I think I shared before how the hymn, “Because He Lives”, has carried me through some of my roughest places, if not all. Just to highlight some of the lyrics that express what Christ has secured for us: ’buy my pardon’, ‘holds the future’, ‘uncertain days’, ‘final war with pain’. These key phrases scream assurances with Jesus. Because Christ arose victoriously from the grave after His life sacrifice on the cross (for the whole world), He offers not only salvation, but victory over the fears strategically set before us. JESUS expresses His great love by letting us know He holds the future (Jer. 29:11) and is greater than anything or anyone that may pose a threat to our peace and joy (Rom 8:38-39); We have a rich and abundant life with Christ (John 10:10). Jesus is our HOPE and the center of our JOY!
Here is yet, another one of the Father’s provisions; He continues to show how He has set us up for great success on this side of eternity. Our biggest adversary rest in the fear of death. Christ was and is the only living being qualified to satisfy God’s Holy demands; He destroyed the threat of our eternal death of torment. Death in Christ gives way to victory; we are forever secure of any harm (or threat) when we are in Christ, God’s Son, our Advocate, and yes, our Redeemer. The promise of eternal security (heavenly destination) represents our victory over any and all of our enemies.
Prayer: Lord, we thank You! You are our Help, Strength, Rescue forever and ever! When we find ourselves in any trial, we can expect Your Hand of Victory to comfort us. We bless You for Your warm and assuring embrace through Your Word and a Scripture-Inspired poems, songs, etc. Your love is great for us; and we are grateful for our victory over whatever or whoever pose a threat to our life and peace with You. In Jesus’ Name-Amen!
