His Love Versus My Fears

Fear is torment and who wants to live in torment? Most of us do not yet the Apostles Paul and John address fear as a reality many of us face. This week our devotional writers tackle the topic, “Victory Over Fear.” May our faith be strengthened by God’s Word and encouraged through these devotionals.

Why concern myself with something the Lord never attended for me to have,
The spirit of fear may surface, but its torment and anguish aren't meant to last.

The Lord enables me to function through His power and love and sound mind,
Victory over fear requires a love that’s one of a kind and made perfect in His time.

Where there is love, there is no fear, and where there is fear there is no love,
Certainly, fears rise against godly pursuits, but love rejects to acquire from above

One, I have access to the Lord’s power to reign victory over my fears,
Two, I have access to the Lord’s love to cast out any evil that draws near.

Three, I have access to His wisdom and discernment to demonstrate a sound mind,
This detects and rejects what’s evil to sustain what’s spiritually aligned.

When fear wins, our mindsets are conditional, selfish, and worldly,
When love wins, our mindsets are unconditional, selfless, and eternal.

Victory over fear stands on the comforting presence of God in times of darkness,
Focusing on the present while entrusting the future to the Lord solely and regardless.

Therefore, this has to be the solid foundation for navigating through life’s uncertainties with faith, courage, and assurance
The Lord addressed this in Psalm 23:4, I will fear no evil, now I have confidence in adversity to secure my endurance

Prayer: Thank You Father for providing what’s needed to overcome our fears. Forgive us for even allowing it to exist knowing You didn’t give it to us. Yet, You showed us and gave us the remedy for this adversity, LOVE! In the matchless name of Jesus!
