Truth is Foundation for Our Faith

This makes Day#7 of our focus on the topic, Dressed In the Whole Armor of God for Spiritual Warfare from Ephesians 6:10-18. We pray that the devotionals have caused you to consider the condition of your personal Christian walk and that you would purpose to commit this scripture to memorization.
SCRIPTURE: "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—" Ephesians 6:10-18
Family of God, while we attempt to know God and how He fully equips us to withstand our own load of cares, trials, and crises (Galatians 6:5) in this world, let’s know by His Word, He will never leave us; He will keep us; and He will never let us go! Ephesians 6 is just another way we know He “has” us. The whole armor of God is the mandatory attire if we want to possess good success on this side of life. For the purpose of time only, let’s narrow in on the ‘belt of truth’.

A Roman soldier’s belt was worn not only to hold up his trousers, but it was used to store his weapons. The soldier could not be expected to be successful holding all of his weapons in his hands; therefore, he used a belt to keep his weaponry close, organized, and available. He could swiftly choose the best weapon for the given situation.

Just as the soldier wears his belt, we should don the Truth of God’s Word tightly and securely; that we may be prepared lights for any given situation(s). God’s Truth is concrete, real, objective, life-changing; it is the very foundation of how we are to keep our faith. We would only crumble beneath the wiles and strategies of our enemy without it. God wants us to be effective and successful to capture His Word to the point of obedience; that we die to our own attire and adapt His; His attire will never fail. He desires that we allow His Word to always be present with us, allowing its belt-like squeeze to lead and direct in every situation we find ourselves. Knowing that each and every assigned challenge we face is working in us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory (2 Corinthians 4:17). The crises are only for our good (Romans 8:28)!

Prayer: Lord, thank You for supplying the necessary Equipment (Your  Word) for us to adorn daily as we journey through this life. We understand that with our success in life, warfare is determined by how we not only know, but obey, exercise, and activate Your Word of Truth.
Help us to walk, fight, and live in the clarity You have given to us. In Jesus’ Name-
Amen!

The belt of truth meets all our core,

Whenever put on well,

Defining us with grace applied

As daybreak starts to swell.

Let truth as such be such a friend

A blessedness worn right

To aid us with high clarity

And lending brightest light.

Let God be raised throughout it all,

His praise, our urge and care,

For all the done within us all

Upon 'the gospel ' bare.
