God’s True Children Certainly Should Know
SCRIPTURE: “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba,[ Father.” 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. 18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.” Romans 8:14-19

One of the challenges of life is to live confidently in a world where we have so little control over life’s circumstances. Since our living in this world encompasses many unplanned, unwanted, undesirable, and unknown circumstances and events which leave us with questions that stretch our trust, it is critical that we believe God and know Him in a personal relationship of certain faith. Despite these challenges to our faith God has determined within Himself that He wanted a family of children that He has given assurances of protection and provision in this world as we live for Him while we serve and wait for the fullness of His plan and purposes to be fulfilled.
While we are waiting and serving Him, we can be sure that He knows each and every one who belongs to Him. “The Lord knows those that are His and let everyone that names the name of Christ depart from iniquity” (2 Timothy 2:19). There should be no doubt in our minds that we are known by our God who is omniscient, but He has sent His Spirit to personally direct, interact and intimately superintend each of us individually so that we will know He knows us as His children. The question of devotion and meditation for us is, do we know and experience the Holy Spirit’s presence which is designed to give assurance and certainty to us?
First, as a new child have you seen a desire to turn away from the old sins that used to control you through your flesh, (vs 13)? We now have an inner enablement through the Holy Spirit’s presence to put to death the deeds of the body. Secondly, have you sensed an otherness in you that prompts and guides your understanding of how God wants you to see or do something according to His will, (vs 14)? The Holy Spirit has come that sons and daughters can be led into the mind of God (I Corinthians 2:9-15). Thirdly, do you have a freedom and peace about approaching God as a true child and not a distant stranger, (vs 15, 16)? It has been made know to our hearts that we now have a special relationship of intimacy with God as our new Daddy.
Prayer: Abba Father, it is such a warmth of gratitude in our hearts to know You have brought us into special relationship as Your heirs and joint heirs with Your Son. Please, we want the Holy Spirit’s control that we will not miss anything that You intend for us to know and do as Your children. In Jesus Name, amen.

Yes, Lord! Grateful for the remi
Amen and bless God!
How Awesome to KNOW that I can call You ABBA FATHER!!!
My goodness, yes! The "assurances of protection and provision in this world ... while we serve and wait for the fullness of His plan and purposes to be fulfilled." We believe this by faith as we wait on Him to move/guide us in this direction. He is growing patience, endurance in His children. Thank You Jesus! Thanks for this encouragement, Pastor!
Amen ! Thank you and praise Almighty God, your sacrifice He is our salvation and hope!
Amen, and Amen! Thank-you Pastor for this devotion, that so ministered to me this morning. For He chose me before the foundation of the world, that I should be holy and without blame before Him in love.
