SUNDAY MORNING PRAYER with Pastor Wayne Cockrell

SCRIPTURE: “For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;” Colossians 1:9-10
Prayer: Our Eternal Father and our gracious God, again today we bow our hearts before You as a people, rejoicing that we are called by Your name and that You would give unto us the privilege among the peoples of the earth to be able to be called sons and daughters of the Living God.  Father, as we yield our selves to the Holy Spirit we desire, once again, that He would open up our understanding. Give unto us the truth that we need today, that You who know all things and You who sees all things are aware of our total being down to the core of our motivation. In awareness of that, Father, we desire that You would have Your way and do in us all that You desire. Each of us are aware of being incomplete having some core, some place, some spot of imperfection, sin, shortcoming, or unlikeness to You. We want to be open so that You might tear all of that down, that You might root all of that out of us so that our hearts would be free, our hearts would be clear. That we might have, Lord God, a oneness with You in our fellowship so that indeed Father, we can have freedom to worship, freedom to lift up our holy hands and thank You, knowing that there are no real rebellious areas in our lives.  So do a work through us and in us today. We pray for Your favor upon this preacher, once again, that You might use me, Lord God, to speak in accordance to Your Word and when it’s all said and done we’ll be careful to give You all the praise, all the honor, and all the glory for we ask it in Jesus’s name. Amen and amen!

Yes Lord, "open up our understanding. Give unto us the truth that we need today," Thanks for that prayer, Pastor!
