SUNDAY MORNING PRAYER with Pastor Wayne Cockrell
SCRIPTURE: ”so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; 28 for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’" Acts 17:27-29
Our eternal Father in Heaven, we bow our hearts before You, our only true God and before Your Son, the Lord Jesus our Savior, and our great High Priest. We yield ourselves to the Holy Spirit desiring that He would have total control of all of our faculties, that indeed He might open up to us an understanding of the truth. Guard our hearts from those things infiltrating us that would pollute and affect our spiritual walk. We want to be free to worship You, free to receive the Truth, and we want to walk in the power of the Spirit to obey what You tell us. So now Father we pray that if there is anything negative in us, anything that is causing us to be antagonistic toward one another or towards the Truth, we desire now to cast it down and yield to the Holy Spirit. We ask for Your favor upon this preacher that as Your servant and as Your son You will once again enable me, Lord, to speak in accordance to Your Word. When it’s all said and done, Lord God, we will be careful to give You all praise and all honor and all glory for we ask it in Jesus’ name, Amen!
