SUNDAY MORNING PRAYER with Pastor Wayne Cockrell

SCRIPTURE: "For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day." 2 Timothy 1:12
Prayer: Our eternal Father and our gracious God, again as a people assembled here, we gather before Your throne of grace with great joy and thanksgiving in our hearts. For we know in whom we have believed, and we are a persuaded people this morning that You are able to keep that which we have committed unto You against any day. You are our God and You have shown Yourself to be faithful to us in great ways and in small. We rejoice in that! We rejoice because we are a forgiven people. We can come before You with a full assurance of faith because of the blood of Jesus. Once again Father, we open Your Word today, we are witnesses that it does give light to us. This Word You have spoke to us has changed us, it has indeed caused our hearts to be different.  It has engaged us in places that we try to hide. You have exposed us to us and made us to know that You know us better than we know ourselves and we thank You for that. Please now, we pray once again, for that mighty work of the Word upon us. That You would use this servant, that I would speak in accordance to Your Word so that It would have no occasion for any hearer to stumble, even down to the frailties of the preacher. May Your Word be mighty in us may we leave this place rejoicing because You have spoken to us in an intimate way that only You can, and we will give You praise, and we will give You thanks. We ask it in Jesus’ name, Amen and Amen.
