DISCERNMENT OF SATAN’S DEVICES: Satan’s Tools

The theme for this week’s Devotional is DISCERNMENT OF SATAN'S DEVICES. Our God has bestowed upon us the spiritually intellectual ability to comprehend beyond what our natural eye sees, beyond face value. Oh what a gift and our team of writers will encourage your hearts through God’s Word and their testimonies!

I’ve been found guilty of using and entertaining Satan’s tools and devices,
My prints were discovered according to my ambitions, habits, and vices;

Often these tools are used to consume and distract the mind and heart,
Satan develops a bad ending by creating and camouflaging a pleasurable start;

Satan's tools poke holes in our faith which causes us to wrestle with flesh and blood,
Strategically using people, places, and things to create spiritual storms and floods;

Faulty perceptions and deceptions are deliberate, cunning, and intentional,
His tools are designed for those who seek the Lord, yet faith is questionable;

Sadly, the spiritual tools that the Lord has given us are still in its boxes,
Ignoring and disregarding Satan’s schemes, tricks, devices, and plots;

One of Satan's sharpest tools is pride, a danger we hide behind,
Often this comes with success or self-righteousness by design;

His tool envy self-seeks with discontent, posturing as if things are unfair,
For where this spite exists, confusion, and every evil thing will always be there;

Next is anger, we have been told not to give Satan a foothold,
Yet, we allow the sun to go down on our wrath, then things get out of control;

Satan continues to entice us with the tool of lust,
He brings forbidden pleasures to our doorsteps that are not good for us;

Certainly, we can’t forget the gossiper, the fatal tool that causes division,
Damaging and destroying families and churches with no accountability or repentance;

Finally, at the side of the toolbox are the deadly D’s,
Disappointment, discouragement, and doubt will always bring us to our knees;

Where there is darkness, there is no light and where there is light, there is no darkness,
Satan’s tools are ready to be used, so we must request and maintain Christ’s presence;

It’s the Holy Spirit that doesn’t allow us to be ignorant of Satan’s tool kit,
The Tool we have inside of us is greater than his so we are able to contend;

Therefore, let’s put on the whole armor of God in order to stand against the wiles of the devil,
The battle is not mine to fight, it is handled when I’m in His presence on a heavenly and spiritual level.

Prayer: Lord! You know what we are against. You have made Yourself available to fight for me. I want to say thank You. I’ve wondered at times or questioned at times; how will I get through Satan's tricks and devices. The Holy Spirit is there to tell me, go get your FATHER! Forgive me for going to get money, people, and other resources to contend against the evil one. Those things are not sufficient. That’s his trick! He knows what I have in me. It’s up to me to remain in Your presence and allow You to knock Satan out. Thank You for the lessons! Thank You for your patience! Thank You for Your faithfulness! Thank You for being my Heavenly Father! In the matchless name of Jesus, Amen!
