SUNDAY MORNING PRAYER with Pastor Wayne Cockrell

SCRIPTURE:  “As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding [a]in it with thanksgiving.” Colossians 2:6-8
Prayer: Our eternal Father and our gracious God, we gather our hearts before you today in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ our great Savior, at Your right-hand making intercession for us. We rejoice today to be able to come and open Your Word for we have come to know that the entrance of it does give us light and give us understanding. You build us up from the inside out and You feed that part of us that nothing else in this world can, and we thank You for that. Father, I ask today that You would speak through these lips of clay with authority, accuracy, and power. That You would bless Your people and we through the hearing of the Word would be encouraged that our faith would be built up, Lord God, and that we might have greater confidence in the things that You say to us, knowing that You see all things at once and nothing is hidden from Your sight. Speak to us as You know exactly what we need and we’ll give You praise once again and give You thanks in Jesus’ name, Amen.

He in us, and we in Him, we are obliged to express through our living and lifestyle the light of Christ, which for its spectrum, is the evidence of gratefulness, and a certain grounding and abounding upon the Word of life. Gratefulness makes charity and forgiveness easier, gratefulness supports our adoration of Him, gratefulness enhances our 'leaning' and our quest for learning, and gratefulness is not bashful with confession. With the cross being gazed, both as occupied then, and hence no longer, we can be exceedingly grateful, and given mercy, exceedingly glad through grace.
