HEALING OF DAMAGED HEARTS: How Can He Mend A Broken Heart?

This week, the devotions team will focus on the topic “Healing of Damaged Hearts.”  Join us each morning for encouragement through God’s Word and our Devotionals.
SCRIPTURE: "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."  Psalm 147:3
The body of Christ is not exempt from trauma and anguish over separation or loss,
The Lord’s unlimited power is what we continue to depend on and feed off;

After all, He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name,
He sustains the humble but casts the wicked to the ground as His plans are sustained;

As the Lord uses our pain, loss, conditions, and circumstances,
He brings about restoration and healing to ensure His Kingdom's advancement;

His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior,
He delights in those who fear Him, who put their hope in his unfailing love and character;

Yet, there are seasons of pain, grief, sorrow, or mere exhaustion,
Wondering and searching how to mend a broken heart for restoration;

While we are put back together, the Lord’s purpose is to restore us in His way,
He is the only source that can bring us to the place of a pure, righteous, and holy state;

Carrying us from a place of hopelessness, despair, and suffering,
Demonstrating His power to repair our brokenness to ultimately recover;

So, we read the Bible to remind us of love stories that’s active and alive,
Reading from painful accounts of biblical characters who bounced back and thrived;

Jeremiah’s heart was broken for the sins of his people,
Lazarus died leaving his sisters heart broken, yet there was a sequel;

Hannah experienced great grief of heart when she was not able to become pregnant,
Esau’s heart was broken when Jacob stole their father’s blessing;

King David, a man after God’s own heart, had countless heartbreaks,
Hagar was heartbroken after Abraham sent her and Ishmael away;

Ruth and Naomi experienced heartbreak after the death of both their husbands,
Job experienced heartbreak from multiple issues and harsh sufferings;

So many families, communities, relationships that have gone wrong,
The Lord has a way of steering us back on track to become even stronger.

Prayer: Lord! Thank You for the many examples of faithfulness in the Bible. So, many relatable accounts that ensure us of Your goodness and power. Forgive us for our lack of trust. You have proven Yourself time after time of being a mender of broken hearts. You are worthy of so much praise! Thank You for all You have done and are doing. In the matchless name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
