MAINTAINING THE UNITY OF THE SPIRIT IN THE BOND OF PEACE: Walk His Way
Scripture: "I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, 2 with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, 3 endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." Ephesians 4:1-3

Pursing and maintaining the bond of peace can be a challenge,
It starts from the heart whether my choices are spiritually valid;
Where I am with the Lord determines where I am with people,
Whether it’s loved ones or enemies, the Lord loves them equally;
So, whoever is loveable or unlovable, it’s an opportunity,
I am called to walk worthy of my calling in order to walk in unity;
Certainly, I can blame my conditions and offenders with a justified position,
But, I have to remind myself that the world and the Lord see things differently;
Asking myself, does my walk resemble and look-like His,
Does the Holy Spirit dominate my behavior to reveal who He is;
Making it my aim to intentionally please the Lord Jesus Christ,
Seeking Him first in all aspects of my highly favored life;
Demonstrating unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace,
Those things that have become a stronghold must be released;
Yet, I rather establish a life of achievement over a life of significance,
Feeding my nature, feelings, and thoughts, while dismissing godly relevance;
Surely, it’s a sacrifice, surely it may not make sense,
Surely, it’s unpopular, and surely, my flesh resist;
But, He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world,
As I abide in Him, He shall abide in me, thus says the Lord;
He takes more concern and interest in the character I display,
Actions over words, service over status, and His way over my way;
Persevering in the faith by giving off a sweet-smelling fragrance,
A display of love, kindness, gentleness, longsuffering, and patience;
Humbly, respecting who and what the Lord values,
Forgiving others who may have offended me to honor His truth;
Choosing to give the Lord His glory as the bond of peace is displayed,
Ultimately, bearing with one another in love, so I can walk His way.
Prayer: Lord, unity with others can be a task. You and You only can provide me with the power to get passed. Continue to convict me! In order to love You, I must make a choice to love Your people. You know my struggle and story, Father. You promised to be with me in my troubles. Allow me to see where I am wrong or in sin to make spiritual adjustments. Give me a scripture to hide in my heart. Remind me of what You already have done. Have mercy on me, Lord! You are worthy of praise. I will be careful to give You all the glory in the name of Jesus. Amen
