PRESERVATION OF OUR LORD’S TESTIMONY AMONGST US: HOPELESSNESS ALMOST HAD ME
Starting this month the Devotions Ministry will focus on a prayer list that Pastor Wayne Cockrell created a few months ago for the Genesis Bible Fellowship Church Family. In this ministry of encouragement our writers will devote a week to one topic, and we pray that you will be blessed by their words of exhortation.
SCRIPTURE: "They almost made an end of me on earth, But I did not forsake Your precepts. 88 Revive me according to Your lovingkindness, So that I may keep the testimony of Your mouth." Psalm 119:87-89
Sins, foes, and fears almost got the best of me,
Yet, the Lord’s truth kept, renewed, and delivered me;
In the midst of trouble, choices were determined through my eyes,
Turning away from my faith that relies on the Lord in heavenly skies;
At times, the conditions appeared hopeless, challenging, and unbearable,
Yet, trials are approved by You Lord, so I am capable, equipped, and durable;
Your Word stands true on yesterday, today, and tomorrow,
Yet, I've allowed myself to succumb to doubt, sadness, or sorrow;
Whether failing health or lack of financial help,
I chose to depend on limited resources, and even myself;
As I ponder, it almost had me!
Adversaries and enemies kindly pose as a friend of me,
Being held hostage to distract me from walking in victory;
Certainly! It almost had me!
Deceived by the culture of what should be my focus and priority,
Allowing my thoughts and feelings to take charge with authority;
Thank You, Lord! It almost had me!
Considering unchecked sin that’s publicly disclosed or hidden,
Ignoring and discounting the consequences that are spiritually given;
Praise God! It almost had me!
The ‘it’ that almost had me refers to fears, pride, lies, and hopelessness,
Yet, through Your grace and mercy, I am able to experience Your faithfulness;
You preserved me to serve Thee,
My enemy nor trouble shall destroy me;
You preserved me to serve Thee,
I am the vessel used for Your glory;
You preserved me to serve Thee,
I am able to do all things through Christ who strengthens me;
You preserved me to serve Thee,
There is nothing too big to bear, upon me;
You preserved me to serve Thee,
You promised to always be with me;
You preserved me to serve Thee,
Based on this evidence, I clearly see You value me;
Therefore, the testimony from Your mouth through me shall prevail,
Your story will get the glory as proof Your lovingkindness has been unveiled.
Prayer: Lord! With or without me You are more than capable of using anybody or anything for Your glory. That You saved me, while willing to be patient and faithful to me despite me reveals Your lovingkindness. You are worthy of being praised! In the matchless name of Jesus Christ. Amen!

Praise the Lord for truth. "It" almost had me, but YOU LORD preserved me. Hallelujah Bro. Glenny!!
Oh snap it almost had me! me! me! HELP
Amen & Amen! Casting all my anxieties on Him, because He cares for me..
Through sorrow, waiting for 'God' to heal the mental health of my loved ones and Satan's lies that God does not care about my problems. It almost had me. But I will not waver in my faith in Jesus Christ because I know he got me. Thanks, Brother Glenny! This was on time.
