What Are We Doing as Unto the Lord?

SCRIPTURE: “What am I saying then? That an idol is anything, or what is offered to idols is anything? 20 Rather, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons. 21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord’s table and of the table of demons.” 1 Corinthians 10:19-21

Patterns, targets, behaviors all of those things not done as unto God are avenues for demonic infiltration. If you do not believe me, Colossians 3:17-23 the scripture says, “Whatsoever you do, you do heartily as unto the Lord.” What you give your life to, that’s what sacrifice means to me. What you give your life to, if it’s not of God, not to God it becomes an avenue of the flesh and demon occupation. The key phrase, “What you give yourself to” sacrifice. What you commit yourself to that’s not of God and not to God becomes an avenue which demons can occupy your thinking.

PRAYER: Father in heaven, we don’t give much credence to Satanic influence, which on the onset seems like a good thing, because we want to ascribe all power to You. What we fail to realize is the wiles of the adversary, his cunning ways, his deception, and relentless attempts to derail our spiritual walk through the use of people, places, and things. Jesus, help us to remember the enemy’s tactics, so that we won’t be ignorant and that we won’t give ourselves over to things that do not please You. Help us to be strong so that we can resist him. We want to make choices that please You, Jesus. We want to remember the God of our Salvation and the joy we shared when we aimed to be well pleasing to you early in our Christian walk. Help us, Lord. It is in Your name we pray, Amen!
