God Can Save Anybody

Scripture: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 'He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.'” John 3:16-18

Does perish jump out and hit you? Do you see that in the verse we tend to see the love of God and the giving of His Son and there is also a threat?...There are consequences when you reject God’s Word. There are consequences when you reject His Son. I gave you My Son that you would believe on Him and not perish. Because perishing as a consequence of sin, the sin of unbelief, the sin of rejecting Jesus, is a reality. Salvation can’t come if we don’t see our sinfulness-a sinfulness that must and will be judged by a holy God. We have to see our sinfulness. We have to be told that our life, our station in life, our very being, our very practice is sin against a holy God. He holds you accountable and He will judge you and you will be destroyed if you don’t repent!

Prayer: Father in heaven, so great a gift You have given mankind to make us Your sons and daughters, but the thought that many will not receive it makes my heart sad. Please open the eyes of the lost around us that they behold Jesus to be saved from a future of eternal perishing. In Jesus Name. Amen.
